Nhu Ngo Knows No New News

You know when you read certain things that just stick to you? Those certain words you read that, for some reason, stay in your mind and constantly prod when you are reminded of them? They don’t have to be those engrossing novels, just everyday things you stumble upon, like instructions for something, or even a tiny excerpt for an exam.

There are a couple I remember endearingly. One of which, was during a Star Test exam in 8th grade. It was an excerpt from the reading comprehension section that explained the necessity of training your brain constantly, and while there are purchasable brain challengers, this article explained the normal tasks you can do you ‘exercise’ your brain. For example, brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand. This piece of information I found intriguing and to this day I still relinquish the task of brushing with my left hand.

Another piece was, I believe, a Yahoo! article. It was merely a list of how to be happy, or at least enjoy life, and among the instructions on the list, I remember a certain one: “Buy tickets, not material objects”.

Aside from those two distinct memories, I do fondly remember reading something about dolphins, but that’s another thing. Either way, memory is quite finicky and I sometimes wish it would remember exam details instead of those about interesting, but mildly useless information.
